Class levels: (back to top)

Beginner:
You are a beginner if you have never danced before or if you have some knowledge in other dance styles and want to add swing dancing to your repertoire.

Level 2:
You have mastered our six week Swing I series (or with approval from the instructors if you have taken basic Lindy Hop classes elsewhere). You are comfortable with a triple step basic, can easily do several 6-count moves, and have a basic understanding of lead or follow techniques.

Level 3:
You have been Lindy Hopping for at least 6 months and are adept at leading or following both 8-count and 6-count moves. You’re comfortable with a basic Swing Out, some Swing Out variations, and Charleston. You are able to dance socially with a variety of partners, and you are as excited about improving your technique as you are about learning new moves.

Dances: (back to top)
Shirley and Chris host a social dance once, sometimes twice each month. The dances are held at the Champlain Club on Crowley Street in Burlington.
The next dance will be on Saturday, July 10
There will be a beginner lesson from 8:00 to 8:30pm

Performance: (back to top)

"We had the pleasure of bringing Shirley and Chris to an event we ran for a group of over 2000 senior citizens. This group is historically very difficult to entertain, but to say that Shirley and Chris were a hit would be an understatement. Their energy, enthusiasm and skill won the hearts of many people that night, and helped to create a memorable event for all in attendance. I dare say that their fast-paced, precise dance style had a visible effect on the energy level of the spectators, and judging from the looks in their eyes and the bounce in their steps, made a lot of people feel a lot younger! I recommend them highly!"
